This course covers most aspects of health and safety in construction. It covers construction safety and health management, risk assessment, planning for safety, and the safe use of construction plant and equipment. All aspects of constructions are covered including, Planning for construction safety, Occupational health and environmental controls, Electrical safety, Materials handling, storage, use and disposal. Lifting equipment Hand and power tools, Welding and cutting, PPE & lifesaving equipment.

Learning Outcome:

  • Demonstrate that controls are in place and that major HSE Risks (potential to cause  fatalities, asset damage, environmental effect, negative company reputation) are reduced to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) at the site.
  • Be able to Implement suitable management arrangements at the site.
  • Demonstrate that all foreseeable and credible hazards have been identified and that barriers and controls are in place to reduce risks.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement in the management of Hazards at the construction site.
  • Provision for emergency response in case of an accident 

 

Additional Note: The construction industry is one of the world’s major industries, however its achievement has been devastated by number of accidents and fatalities.Many of these incidents go unreported and prove to be huge loss for the respective company both in terms of life loss as well as revenue loss.
